ഗൾ‍ഫ് ഡയറി
ഇനി ഞാനെഴുതാൻ നോക്കുന്നു. ഇത്രദിവസവും സരസ്വതീപൂജയായിരുന്നു. അക്ഷരദാരിദ്ര്യം ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി.
ബ്ലോഗുകളൊക്കെ വായിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്‌; ഞാനായിട്ടെന്തിനെഴുതാതിരിക്കണം. മനസ്സിനെ ഏറെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ച ഒരു ദീർ‍ഘനിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ഓർ‍മ്മക്കുറിപ്പ്‌.
യു.ഏ.ഇ-യിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ പ്രഭാതം. ഏറെ വർ‍ഷങ്ങളാവുന്നു ഇപ്പോൾ.
ഗൾ‍ഫിനെക്കുറിച്ച്‌ എല്ലാവരും നല്ല സ്വപ്നം കണ്ട്‌ സ്വർ‍ണ്ണം, വസ്ത്രം, സുഗന്ധവസ്തുക്കൾ... ഫോറിൻ സാധനങ്ങൾ എന്നുപറഞ്ഞാൽ ഒന്നു തൊട്ടുനോക്കാൻ പോലും കൊതിച്ച ആ കാലത്ത്‌ ഇവിടെ എത്തി. രാത്രി 12 മണിയ്ക്കോ മറ്റോ, വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ വന്നിറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ വൈദ്യുത ദീപങ്ങൾ കണ്ട്‌ - നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ ഒരിക്കലും കാണാത്തത്ര - അതിശയിച്ചു. രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂർ യാത്ര കഴിഞ്ഞ്‌ വീട്ടിലെത്തി. ഒന്നും കഴിക്കാൻ തോന്നിയേയില്ല. വെള്ളം മാത്രം കുടിച്ച്‌ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി. വന്നപ്പോൾ‍ത്തന്നെ മനസ്സിലായിരുന്നു എത്തപ്പെട്ടതൊരു 'ഗ്രാമ'ത്തിലെ വില്ലയിലാണെന്ന്. പ്രഭാതം എങ്ങിനെയായിരിക്കും എന്ന് ചിന്തിച്ച്‌ തന്നെ കിടന്നു.
ഉണർ‍ന്നെഴുന്നേറ്റ്‌ വാതിൽ പതുക്കെ തുറന്ന് വെളിയിലേയ്ക്കുനോക്കി. ആദ്യനോട്ടത്തിൽ കണ്ടത്‌ നീലാകാശവും ടെലിഫോൺ‍കാരുടെ തൂണിന്റെ മുകൾ ഭാഗവും അതിൽ‍നിന്നു വീടിന്റെ പുറകിലേയ്ക്കു പോകുന്ന കമ്പിയും.
ഒരു ചെടിയോ പൂവോ വൃക്ഷത്തലപ്പോ കിളികളുടെ ശബ്ദമോ കാണാതെ,
കേൾ‍ക്കാതെ...
നാട്ടിലെ വീടിന്റെ വാതിൽ തുറന്ന് നോക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ള കാഴ്ച ഓർ‍ത്തു. വൃക്ഷത്തലപ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലൂടെ ഒളിഞ്ഞും ചരിഞ്ഞും നോക്കിയാൽ മാത്രം കാണുന്ന ആകാശം ഓർ‍ത്തു. കിളികളെ കണ്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും പലതരം കിളികളുടെ ശബ്ദം! എന്തെല്ലാം നിറത്തിലെ പൂക്കൾ! എന്തെല്ലാം നിറത്തിലെ ഇലകൾ!....
പതിയെ വില്ലയിലെ വാതിലടച്ച്‌ മുറിയില്‍ വെറുതേ കിടന്നു.

ഇവിടെ യു.എ.ഈയില്‍ ഫുജൈറയിലും ഉം അല്‍ കുവൈനിലും റാസ്‌ അല്‍ ഖൈമയിലും ഒക്കെ മാത്രമേ ഒരു ഗ്രാമാന്തരിക്ഷം ഇപ്പഴും നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നുള്ളു. അതിന്‌ അതിന്റേതായ സുഖം ഇല്ലേ? ദുബൈ, അബുദാബി, ഷാര്‍ജ്ജ, അജ്മാന്‍ - ഒക്കെ തിരക്കുള്ള നഗരങ്ങളാ. അവിടെ താമസിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക്‌ മറ്റ്‌ എമിരേറ്റുകളില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നവരോട്‌ അസൂയയാ!
